Recruitment of Scientists for Planning and Performance Division (PPD) and Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD) Programme of CSIR

Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. It is amongst the foremost scientific and industrial research setups in the world. Having state of art infrastructure and scientific & technical manpower second to none, CSIR covers practically the entire spectrum of scientific and industrial R&D of national and international importance. This ranges from aerospace to ocean exploration, micro-electronics to structural and environmental
engineering, smart materials to mechatronics, petrochemicals to synthetic biology and from robotics and micro machines to drugs & pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.

The positions are in the following groups and areas:

1.Scientist-C [Group IV (2)]: 6 Posts (UR-3, OBC-1, SC-1, ST-1)
Scale of pay: Rs. 15600-39100/-; Grade Pay: Rs. 6600/- (PB-3)


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:
Post 1 [code A(UR)]; Post 2 [code B(OBC)]: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics with one year experience*;
Post 3 [code C(UR)]; Post 4 [code D(SC)]: Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences with one year experience*;
Post 5 [code E(UR)]; Post 6 [code F(ST)]: M.E. / M.Tech. with 2 years experience* or Ph.D. in Engineering.

DESIRABLE:

Good exposure to R&D in relevant field; computer operating skills; flair for oral and written communication; and strong analytical abilities. MBA (1st class) from a premier institution for post 5 & 6.

JOB REQUIREMENT:
Post 1: To plan and execute R&D in the domain of Bioinformatics; development and execution of projects for Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD) programme; project monitoring; and coordination of scientific activity of OSDD programme.
Post 2: To plan and execute R&D in the domain of chemical sciences & technology; development of R&D projects including in public-private-partnership mode; project monitoring; and coordination of scientific activity in the area of such projects.
Post 3 and 4: To plan R&D projects in the domain of information technology; development and execution of R&D projects; monitoring of projects; coordination of scientific activity in the area of such projects; and work related to Business Development.
AGE:Not more than 35 years.

2. Scientist-EI [Group IV(3)]: 5 Posts (UR)
Scale of pay: Rs. 15600-39100/-; Grade Pay: Rs. 7600/- (PB-3)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:
Post 1 (code G): MD (Ayurveda) with five years experience
Post 2 (code H): Ph.D. (Medicinal Chemistry/Biochemistry) with four years experience
Post 3 (code I): Ph.D. (Medicinal Chemistry) with four years experience
Post 4 (code J): Ph.D. (Engineering) with three years experience
Post 5 (code K): Ph.D. (Physics) with four years experience

DESIRABLE:
Post 1: Excellent exposure to R&D based on traditional knowledge such as ayurveda; knowledge of genomics; proven leadership in formulation & execution of projects in this area; computer operating skills; flair for oral and written communication; and strong analytical abilities.
Post 2 to 5: Excellent exposure to R&D in the area identified; proven leadership in formulation & execution of projects in the area indicated; computer operating skills; flair for oral and written communication; and strong analytical abilities.

JOB REQUIREMENT:
For Post 1: R&D planning in the domain of traditional knowledge related areas; development and execution of R&D projects including in public-private-partnership mode; project review & monitoring; and coordination of scientific activity in the area of such projects.
For Post 2: R&D planning and execution for Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD) programme; project monitoring; and coordination of scientific activity in the area of such projects.
For Post 3 and 4: R&D planning in the relevant domain; development and execution of R&D projects including in public-private-partnership mode; project review & monitoring; and coordination of scientific activity in the area of such projects.
For Post 5: R&D planning and execution of solar mission projects; project review and monitoring; and coordination of scientific activity in the area of such projects.
AGE: Not more than 40 years.

3. Scientist-EII [Group IV(4)]: 2 Posts (UR)
Scale of pay: Rs. 37400-67000/-; Grade Pay: Rs. 8700/- (PB-4)


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:
Post (2 vacancies) (code L): Ph.D. in Biological Sciences with seven years experience.

DESIRABLE:
Excellent exposure to industrial R&D; proven leadership in formulation & execution of projects in this area; computer operating skills; and flair for oral and written communication; and strong analytical abilities. The incumbents with MBA will be preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENT:
R&D planning in the domain of Biological Sciences & Technology; development and execution of R&D projects including in public-private-partnership mode; project review & monitoring; and coordination of scientific activity in the area of Biological Sciences & Technology.

AGE: Not more than 45 years.

4. Scientist-F [Group IV(5)]: 2 Posts (UR)
Scale of pay: Rs. 37400-67000/-; Grade Pay: Rs. 8900/- (PB-4)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:
Post (2 vacancies) (code M): Ph.D. in Chemical/ Physical Sciences with ten years experience or Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences with eight years experience.

DESIRABLE:
Excellent exposure of R&D in any of the following area: (a) Affordable Health including drug development and diagnostics; (b) sustainable energy including solar energy and other new and renewable energy; experience of mega project management; proven leadership in formulation & execution of projects in the area; computer operating skills; flair for oral and written communication; and strong analytical abilities.

JOB REQUIREMENT:
To act as nodal person for developing and executing projects in the identified area; planning and management of mega R&D projects in the given area; project review & monitoring; preparation of techno-economic feasibility reports; coordination of scientific activity in the area; and negotiation with industry for  knowledgebase transfer.
AGE:Not more than 50 years.
